Stitch Spring Has Come, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a robin with a bright orange breast perches among soft, silvery pussy willow catkins on slender branches. Worked in 28 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: pussy willow is one of the first signs of spring and was brought indoors for luck and protection, and a robin singing nearby promised good news. Stitchers say this pair brings spring early.

Why this kit: if you love garden birds and early-spring decor, this robin is gentle, pretty and a satisfying stitch. A lovely Easter or spring gift for bird watchers.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 28 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the robin's orange breast and eye, then the brown feathers. Finish with the soft grey catkins and branches.

Finished size: 20.5×24 cm (8.07×9.45 in). A gentle spring picture to frame and a lovely Easter gift.
