Stitch Cat Magic, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a black and white kitten with big yellow eyes sits in a pair of gentle hands, watching a tiny spider dangle from its web above. Soft sketch lines and an oval shape give it a charming vintage feel. Worked in 16 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a spider spinning over your head was said to bring money and good luck, and a black cat nearby doubled it. Stitchers say this kitten is guarding a small fortune.

Why this kit: if you love black cats and a touch of magic, this sweet oval design is quick and charming — perfect for autumn and Halloween. A lovely gift for cat lovers, and a pair with RTO's Warmth in Palms kitten.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 16 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the yellow eyes, then the black fur and white chest. Finish with the fine lines of the hands, the web and the little spider.

Finished size: 16.5×25 cm (6.5×9.84 in). A charming cat picture to frame and a magical gift for cat lovers.
