Stitch Nuthatch on Pine, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a little blue-grey nuthatch perches on a pine branch among long green needles and brown cones. Worked in 33 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.
A little stitcher's folklore: the nuthatch climbs down trees head-first, and seeing one was said to mean you'd soon see things from a new and lucky angle. Stitchers say this one brings a fresh view.
Why this kit: if you love garden birds and fresh botanical designs, this nuthatch on pine is elegant and relaxing to stitch. A lovely gift for bird watchers and nature lovers.
Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 33 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.
Start with the nuthatch's blue-grey back, black eye stripe and pale breast. Finish with the pine cones and the long needles.
Finished size: 26×26.5 cm (10.24×10.43 in). An elegant bird picture to frame and a lovely handmade gift.
