Stitch I Bring Happiness, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO from the There Were Cats series — a fluffy grey cat in a red dress with a frilly collar and a pink polka-dot bow proudly carries a slice of layered cake on a white plate. Worked in DMC stranded cotton on 14-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a cat coming to visit on your birthday was said to bring a whole year of luck. Stitchers say this one brings cake as well.

Why this kit: if you love funny, characterful cats, this little design is quick and full of personality. A perfect birthday gift for cat lovers, and a set with the other There Were Cats kits.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in all the colours you need, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the cat's big eyes and pink bow, then the grey fur. Finish with the red dress and the cake on its plate.

Finished size: 15.5×21 cm (6.1×8.27 in). A cheerful cat picture to frame and a sweet birthday gift.
