Stitch In a Winter Fairy Tale, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a little stone cottage with glowing windows and a smoking chimney sits on a snowy hill, among frosty blue trees, delicate seed heads and red berries under a starry sky. Worked in 20 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: smoke rising straight up from the chimney was said to mean a clear, frosty night and a happy home. Stitchers say this cottage is the cosiest place in the fairy tale.

Why this kit: if you love Scandinavian-style winter scenes, this snowy cottage is stylish, cosy and quick to stitch. A lovely Christmas gift and a perfect winter decoration.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 20 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the cottage and its glowing windows, then the blue trees. Finish with the seed heads, red berries and the snowy sky.

Finished size: 20×20 cm (7.87×7.87 in). A cosy winter picture to frame and a festive handmade gift.
