Stitch Cowberry, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — sprigs of lingonberry with glossy dark green leaves and clusters of bright red berries rise among soft, silvery wild grasses. Worked in DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: in the North, lingonberries were picked in autumn and kept all winter, and a full basket was said to promise good health until spring. Stitchers say this sprig keeps the whole house well.

Why this kit: if you love botanical prints and Scandinavian style, this lingonberry sprig is fresh, elegant and relaxing to stitch. A lovely gift for gardeners, and a set with RTO's Juniper and Thistle.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in all the colours you need, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the red berries, then the glossy leaves and stems. Finish with the delicate silvery grasses.

Finished size: 20×24 cm (7.87×9.45 in). An elegant botanical picture to frame and a lovely handmade gift.
