Red Maple Japanese Manor DIY Miniature House Kit 16 in by Wizardi F07M5-32-P008-A

A large Japanese manor with dark tiled roofs wraps around a garden courtyard: a tatami tea room behind a sliding screen painted with red maple leaves, a bedroom with paper lanterns and a round moon window, a kitchen with a tiled wall, an open tiled pavilion with a low sushi table and floor cushions, and a pink plum blossom tree, potted flowers and stone paving tying the garden together. At night every lantern glows.

A little crafter's folklore: in Japan the first plum blossoms are said to promise a good year ahead, and miniaturists like to place one tiny blossom by the front step.

Why this kit: if you love traditional Japanese homes, this is the biggest house in the range, a long, absorbing build with garden, pavilion and lantern-lit rooms.

In the box: pre-cut wooden pieces, wallpaper and fabric pieces, miniature furniture and finely detailed accessories, built-in LED lights, and illustrated step-by-step instructions. Not included: batteries, glue and scissors.

The largest Japanese house in the Wizardi roombox range. Pair it with the Willow Bridge Japanese House or Japanese Garden Villa with Koi Pond. Build tip: fit and glue the wall panels into the shell first, add wallpaper and fabric before the furniture, place the smallest accessories with tweezers, and wire in the lights last.

Size: 40 x 30 x 30 cm (15.7 x 11.8 x 11.8 in). A spectacular centrepiece for a sideboard or wide shelf, and a gift for anyone who loves Japanese culture. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
