Exposed timber framing and stone- and brick-effect walls wrap a loft study, an upstairs bedroom, and a ground-floor kitchen and dining room, while outside a garden gate marked Wonderful Cottage, a mailbox, an owl perched in a tree, and a table set for an outdoor meal complete the scene. The overall effect is a warm, gathered-together country home rather than a formally decorated one.
