Mountain Sunrise Landscape Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle by Wizardi F07N9-24

Piece together a mountain sunrise landscape, a wooden jigsaw puzzle by Wizardi: snow-touched peaks ring a pine-filled valley, a river and waterfall run through the foreground, and a fiery sunrise glows into a star-flecked sky, in layered paper-cut style.

A little puzzler's folklore: mountain people say watching the sunrise from a peak gives you clear thinking for the whole day.

Why this puzzle: if you love dramatic colour, the orange glow against the deep blue mountains is unforgettable.

In the box: laser-cut wooden pieces printed with the picture, a mix of classic interlocking pieces and whimsy pieces cut as little animals and figures such as giraffes, butterflies and dragonflies, packed in a gift box with the full picture on the front for reference. The box rates it 5A Challenger. Not included: a puzzle board or frame.

How to build it: turn every piece picture-side up, pick out the curved rim and the whimsy figures first, then sort the rest by colour and build inwards, using the box picture as your guide; the wood pieces lock firmly, so a finished section can be moved without falling apart.

Finished size 29.7 cm (11.7 in) across, a round picture, so it fits a coffee table while you work and a frame afterwards; a lovely gift for puzzle fans, animal and nature lovers and anyone who wants a calm, screen-free evening, and it goes back in the box to build again.
