Build Blackbeard's ship, a 3D paper model ship kit by Wizardi: a three-masted pirate ship with black sails, a skull and crossbones flag flying above the rigging, a dark wood-look hull with rows of gun ports and a display stand.

A little builder's folklore: Blackbeard was said to tuck lit fuses under his hat to frighten his enemies, and his flagship became the most famous pirate ship of all.

Why this kit: if you love pirate stories, this black-sailed ship is a dramatic centrepiece for a boy's room, a den or an office.

In the box: pre-cut punch-out pieces for the hull, masts, sails and display stand, and an illustrated step-by-step instruction sheet. Not included: tools, because the pieces press out by hand.

How to build and display: work through the numbered steps, building the hull first, then the decks, masts and sails, and finish with the flags and the display stand. Show it off on a bookshelf, mantel or office desk.

Size: 49 x 12 x 43.4 cm (19.3 x 4.7 x 17.1 in). 105 pieces. A great gift for ship lovers, history fans and model builders, and a relaxing screen-free project for adults and teens. Recommended for ages 14 and up; small parts, keep away from young children.
