Make Van Gogh's Sunflowers, a 3D paper tole art kit by Wizardi: a vase full of golden and amber sunflowers against a pale background rises in layers of printed card, finished in a white frame.

A little crafter's folklore: Van Gogh painted his sunflowers to decorate a friend's room, and they became the symbol of his happiest days.

Why this kit: if you want a sunny, cheerful picture, these sunflowers brighten a kitchen or living room all year.

In the box: printed card sheets with every layer of the picture, adhesive foam pads for building depth, a white frame with a fold-out easel stand, and instructions. Not included: a craft knife or scissors for trimming.

How to make: cut out each layer and build the picture up from the background, raising each layer on foam pads so the scene gains real depth. Slip the finished picture into the frame and stand it on a desk, shelf or mantel.

A thoughtful gift for art lovers and museum fans, and a relaxing creative project for adults. Recommended for ages 14 and up; small parts, keep away from young children.
