Make Van Gogh's Almond Blossom, a 3D paper tole art kit by Wizardi: twisting branches covered in white almond blossoms against a soft blue sky rise in layers of printed card, finished in a black frame.

A little crafter's folklore: Van Gogh painted Almond Blossom to celebrate the birth of his nephew, a symbol of new life.

Why this kit: if you want a calm, graceful picture, the white blossoms make a lovely gift for a new baby or a new home.

In the box: printed card sheets with every layer of the picture, adhesive foam pads for building depth, a black frame with a fold-out easel stand, and instructions. Not included: a craft knife or scissors for trimming.

How to make: cut out each layer and build the picture up from the background, raising each layer on foam pads so the scene gains real depth. Slip the finished picture into the frame and stand it on a desk, shelf or mantel.

A thoughtful gift for art lovers and museum fans, and a relaxing creative project for adults. Recommended for ages 14 and up; small parts, keep away from young children.
