Build a pink edge snow succulent, a mini building block plant kit by Wizardi: bright green rosette leaves edged in soft pink open around a white flower centre, and a second bloom reaches out on a long curving stem, in a terracotta pot with a cream rim.

A little builder's folklore: white-flowered succulents are said to bring a fresh start, like the first snow of winter.

Why this kit: if you want a fresh, vivid look, the pink edges and white flowers make this rosette pop.

In the box: ABS building bricks for the plant and its little rust-orange pot, and an illustrated step-by-step instruction booklet. Not included: glue or tools, because none are needed.

How to build and display: press the bricks together by hand following the numbered steps, starting with the pot and finishing with the leaves and flowers. It is a quick, relaxing build for one evening; collect the series and line the pots up on a windowsill or desk, and they never need watering.

A cheerful little gift for a plant lover, a coworker or a teacher, a stocking stuffer, and a calm screen-free hobby for adults and teens. Recommended for ages 14 and up; small parts, keep away from young children.
