Build a blue lotus succulent garden, a building block succulent set of 4 by Wizardi: an oversized pale blue lotus-shaped flower with a pink centre, a tall plant with red-fringed leaves and little yellow-orange flowers, a compact green cactus cluster and a small purple and green crystal succulent, each in its own pot.

A little builder's folklore: the lotus rises clean from muddy water, so a lotus on the desk is said to keep thoughts calm and clear.

Why this kit: if you want one show-stopping piece with three companions, the big blue lotus makes a natural centrepiece.

In the box: ABS building bricks for four little potted plants and their pots, and an illustrated step-by-step instruction booklet. Not included: glue or tools, because none are needed.

How to build and display: build the four plants one at a time following the numbered steps, starting each with its pot. Group them together as a mini succulent garden on a desk or windowsill, or spread them around the house; they never need watering.

A lasting flower gift for mom, a friend, a teacher or a coworker, and a calm screen-free hobby for adults and teens. Recommended for ages 14 and up; small parts, keep away from young children.
