Stitchers say small scissors are the one tool every project needs, which is why the prettiest pair usually lives on top of the sewing box, not inside it.

Why these scissors: if you stitch, quilt, felt or crochet, you reach for small scissors dozens of times per project, and short, sharp pointed blades let you trim floss tails and stray wool fibers right against the fabric without catching nearby stitches. The fine points reach into tight corners of a hoop without snagging neighboring stitches.

In the box: one pair of antique copper-bronze embroidery scissors with stainless steel blades, in a gift box. Not included: needles, thread or project materials.

Care: use them for thread, floss, yarn and wool only, wipe the blades dry after use, keep them closed when stored, and add a drop of sewing machine oil to the pivot now and then to keep the action smooth.

A thoughtful gift for embroiderers, cross stitchers, quilters, knitters and needle felters, or a small treat for your own sewing box.
