Red Hat Soldier on Rocking Horse Christmas Wooden Nutcracker 12 in by Wizardi F07AM9-32-N01860A

Gallop into Christmas with the Red Hat Soldier on Rocking Horse, a wooden nutcracker by Wizardi — a soldier in a tall red hat set with a crystal, a fluffy white beard under a black moustache, and a red velvet cape trimmed in gold. He holds a silver sword as he rides a white rocking horse with a golden faux-fur mane, red reins and a gold saddle, on navy rockers painted with gold scrolls.

A little collector's folklore: the rocking horse was the dream gift of every Victorian child, and collectors say this soldier rides from house to house on Christmas Eve to make sure every child's wish comes true.

Why this nutcracker: if you love vintage toy-shop decor, he combines the nutcracker and the rocking horse in one nostalgic piece. At about 12 inches he looks lovely on a mantel, sideboard or nursery shelf.

In the box: one Red Hat Soldier on Rocking Horse nutcracker in painted wood with faux-fur mane and beard and a fabric cape. A decorative nutcracker, not intended for cracking nuts. Ready to display, no assembly needed.

Collect the red and blue king riders in the same series (F07AM9-32-N01860B and C), or pair him with the green-rocker soldier (F07AM9-33-N01096B). Dust with a soft, dry brush and keep away from moisture and heat. A decoration, not a toy.

Size: 30 cm tall (11.8 in). Vintage toy-shop Christmas decor, and a nostalgic gift for collectors, grandparents and new families.
