Build a jade butterfly rosette, a mini building block succulent kit by Wizardi: a ruffled white and blush pink centre opens like a camellia, ringed by alternating mint green and pink pointed leaves, in a round coral orange pot.

A little builder's folklore: rosettes that look like flowers are said to bring romance, and succulent lovers often swap them as small tokens of affection.

Why this kit: if you want a succulent that looks like a flower, this pretty pastel rosette is a sweet small gift.

In the box: small ABS building bricks for the plant and its coloured pot, and an illustrated instruction sheet. Not included: glue or tools, because none are needed.

How to build and display: press the tiny bricks together by hand following the steps, building the pot first and then layering the leaves into a rosette. Collect a few and line them up on a desk, a shelf or a windowsill as a little succulent garden that never needs watering.

Size: 5 x 5 x 5 cm (2 x 2 x 2 in). A tiny desk plant, a party favour or a stocking stuffer, and a quick, relaxing build that takes well under an hour. Recommended for ages 14 and up; small parts, keep away from young children.
