Spring Blossoms after William Stephen Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle by Wizardi F07N9-22

Piece together Spring Blossoms after William Stephen, a wooden jigsaw puzzle by Wizardi: a young woman in a straw hat gathers lilac blossoms beside a wheelbarrow piled with flowers, with a blossoming tree, a thatched cottage and a rooster and hens at her feet.

A little puzzler's folklore: country people said the first lilac of spring should be picked for the kitchen table to bring a lucky year.

Why this puzzle: if you love cottage gardens, this story-filled scene has something new to find in every corner.

In the box: laser-cut wooden pieces printed with the picture, a mix of classic interlocking pieces and whimsy pieces cut as little animals and figures such as giraffes, butterflies and dragonflies, packed in a gift box with the full picture on the front for reference. The box rates it 5A Challenger. Not included: a puzzle board or frame.

How to build it: turn every piece picture-side up, pick out the straight edges and the whimsy figures first, then sort the rest by colour and build inwards, using the box picture as your guide; the wood pieces lock firmly, so a finished section can be moved without falling apart.

Finished size 20.4 x 29 cm (8 x 11.4 in), a rectangular A4 picture, so it fits a coffee table while you work and a frame afterwards; a lovely gift for puzzle fans, art lovers and anyone who wants a calm, screen-free evening, and it goes back in the box to build again.
