Stitch Sunflower Fields, a long stitch kit by Bothy Threads — big yellow sunflowers fill the foreground while fat bumblebees drift over a lavender field and rolling green hills.

A little stitcher's folklore: young sunflowers really do follow the sun across the sky each day; once the heads open fully they settle facing east to greet the morning.

Why this kit: long stitch and a handful of creative stitches give the petals, bees and fields real texture, and Perle cotton adds a soft sheen to the flower heads.

Kit includes: canvas, pre-sorted stranded cottons, Perle cotton, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. A frame is not included.

Follow the stitch diagram to fill each area with long straight stitches, then work the textured stitches for the sunflower centres and bees.

Finished size: 19×18.5 cm (7.5×7.3 in). A bright late-summer picture for a kitchen or garden room.
