Stitch Summer Landscape, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a thatched white cottage with blue shutters sits beneath a great leafy tree, its garden bursting with foxgloves and summer flowers, with a sailing boat glimpsed on the sea beyond.

A little stitcher's folklore: it was said a thatcher always hid a straw bird on the roof to keep the cottage lucky for as long as the thatch lasted.

Why this kit: a classic, sunny countryside scene with 48 colours on fine 18-count Aida.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 48 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the cottage and thatch, then the great tree, and finish with the flower garden, sea and sky using the chart.

Finished size: 34×41 cm (13.4×16.1 in). A peaceful country picture for the living room and a lovely gift for a new home.
