Sea Turtle Coral Reef Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle by Wizardi F07N9-31

Piece together a sea turtle coral reef, a wooden jigsaw puzzle by Wizardi: a sea turtle glides past bright reef fish, coral and a starfish, with flowers and shells in a round picture bordered by an ornate knotwork ring.

A little puzzler's folklore: in many island cultures the sea turtle is a symbol of long life and safe journeys home.

Why this puzzle: if you love the ocean, the busy reef detail keeps you finding new creatures as you build.

In the box: laser-cut wooden pieces printed with the picture, a mix of classic interlocking pieces and whimsy pieces cut as little animals and figures such as giraffes, butterflies and dragonflies, packed in a gift box with the full picture on the front for reference. The box rates it 5A Challenger. Not included: a puzzle board or frame.

How to build it: turn every piece picture-side up, pick out the curved rim and the whimsy figures first, then sort the rest by colour and build inwards, using the box picture as your guide; the wood pieces lock firmly, so a finished section can be moved without falling apart.

Finished size 29.7 cm (11.7 in) across, a round picture, so it fits a coffee table while you work and a frame afterwards; a lovely gift for puzzle fans, animal and nature lovers and anyone who wants a calm, screen-free evening, and it goes back in the box to build again.
