Floating Canal Bookstore DIY Miniature House Kit 9 in by Wizardi F07AM15-2-68083

A little bookstore floats on a blue canal: a boathouse with a terracotta tiled roof and a lifebuoy over the door, shelves packed with books and maps, a reading chair and lamp, a ladder to the top shelf, and a gondola moored alongside with red cushions. With the light on it looks like a Venetian evening.

A little crafter's folklore: sailors say a book on board brings a calm sea, and miniaturists like to leave one open in the gondola for the next traveller.

Why this kit: if you love books and travel, this floating bookstore is unusual and atmospheric, a 261 piece build with a warm light.

In the box: laser-cut wooden sheets for the scene, base, buildings and vehicle, printed figures and signs, tiny accessories, an LED light with an on-off switch, and an illustrated instruction manual. Not included: batteries, glue and small tools such as tweezers.

Part of a city journeys series of wooden scenes on matching bases. Pair it with the London Double-Decker Bus, Paris Street Yellow Car and Cable Car Tram Stop. Build tip: build the water base first, then the boathouse walls, shelves and roof, and the gondola last.

Size: 22.5 x 14.3 x 12.3 cm (8.9 x 5.6 x 4.8 in), 261 wooden pieces. A unique bookshelf display, and a gift for book lovers and travellers. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
