Stitch Sunflowers, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — golden sunflowers, pink tulips and white blossoms spread symmetrically through dark green foliage.

A little stitcher's folklore: in the 1870s and 80s the sunflower became the emblem of the Aesthetic movement, appearing on tiles, fabrics and wallpapers across Victorian homes.

Why this kit: this Morris & Co. design is stitched edge to edge in full cross stitch only, so it is repetitive, restful stitching with a striking finish.

Kit includes: 14-count cream Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches only. A frame is not included.

Start at the centre of the chart and work outwards in full cross stitch, filling the dark ground as you go.

Finished size: 31×31 cm (12.2×12.2 in). A bold Arts and Crafts panel for a living room wall.
