Stitch Help the Bees, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — an old white beehive and a skep hanging from a flowering branch frame the words 'Plant trees to help the bees'.

A little stitcher's folklore: country beekeepers once 'told the bees' about every birth, marriage and death in the family, so the hive would not take offence and fly away.

Why this kit: Amanda Loverseed's design, from the Bothy Threads Spring 2025 Collection, surrounds its message with blossom, foxgloves and busy bees.

Kit includes: 14-count cloudy blue Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the flowers and hives in cross stitch from the centre of the chart, then add the lettering and the bees' flight paths in back stitch.

Finished size: 26×36 cm (10.2×14.2 in). A gentle message for a gardener, beekeeper or nature lover.
