Stitch Rewild and Sing, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — swallows swoop over a wildflower meadow of poppies and cornflowers beneath the words 'Rewilding makes the birds sing'.

A little stitcher's folklore: swallows were said to bring good luck to any barn they nested in, and farmers would never knock down their mud nests.

Why this kit: Amanda Loverseed's design, from the Bothy Threads Winter 2025 Collection, celebrates wild gardens with a soft palette on cloudy blue Aida.

Kit includes: 14-count cloudy blue Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the meadow flowers and birds in cross stitch from the centre of the chart, then add the lettering and fine details in back stitch and French knots.

Finished size: 26×36 cm (10.2×14.2 in). A hopeful picture for anyone who leaves a corner of the garden to go wild.
