Stitch Hammy Anniversary, a greeting card cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — two hamsters snuggle in a heart-covered teacup beside a jammy biscuit.
A little stitcher's folklore: almost all pet golden hamsters descend from a single family found in Syria in 1930.
Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it includes an alphabet so you can add names or a date for the couple.
Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive speckled background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a cream card mount and envelope, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions with an alphabet for personalising. Stitches used: cross stitch, fractionals, back stitch and French knots. The card mount frames the finished stitching, so no extra frame is needed.
Stitch the hamsters and teacup in cross stitch and fractionals, add outlines in back stitch and the French knots, then personalise and mount it in the card.
Finished size: 10×16 cm (3.9×6.3 in). A sweet anniversary or Valentine's card for a cosy couple.
