Stitch Peek-a-Boo, a greeting card cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a fluffy yellow duckling pops out of a pale blue eggshell.

A little stitcher's folklore: ducklings imprint on the first moving thing they see after hatching and will follow it everywhere, whether it is their mother or not.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it includes an alphabet so you can add a baby's name or an Easter message.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida printed with Bothy Threads' exclusive Wrendale Designs speckle, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a cream card mount and envelope, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions with an alphabet for personalising. Stitches used: cross stitch, a few fractionals, back stitch and one French knot. The card mount frames the finished stitching, so no extra frame is needed.

Stitch the duckling and egg in cross stitch and fractionals, add outlines in back stitch and the single French knot, then personalise and mount it.

Finished size: 10×16 cm (3.9×6.3 in). A sweet card for a new baby or Easter.
