Stitch Poppy Mouse, a greeting card cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a harvest mouse clings to the stem of a single red poppy.

A little stitcher's folklore: a poppy seed head can hold over a thousand seeds, and they can lie dormant in the soil for decades before flowering.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs and featured in Bothy Threads' Especially For You book, it comes in the new plastic-free packaging.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida printed with Bothy Threads' exclusive Wrendale Designs speckle, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a card mount and envelope, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and French knots. The card mount frames the finished stitching, so no extra frame is needed.

Stitch the poppy and mouse in cross stitch, add the whiskers and stem in back stitch and the French knots, then mount it in the card.

Finished size: 10×16 cm (3.9×6.3 in). A pretty card for a summer birthday or a gardener.
