Stitch Deerly Loved, a greeting card cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a spotted fawn stands on slender legs against a speckled ground.

A little stitcher's folklore: a fawn's white spots mimic dappled sunlight on the forest floor, helping it hide while its mother feeds nearby.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs and featured in Bothy Threads' Especially For You book, it comes in the new plastic-free packaging.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida printed with Bothy Threads' exclusive Wrendale Designs speckle, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a card mount and envelope, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and two French knots. The card mount frames the finished stitching, so no extra frame is needed.

Stitch the fawn in cross stitch, add the outlines in back stitch and the two French knots, then mount it in the card.

Finished size: 10×16 cm (3.9×6.3 in). A tender card for a new baby, anniversary or someone dear.
