Stitch Pug, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a fawn pug puppy with a wrinkled black face and curly tail sits looking up on a speckled ground.

A little stitcher's folklore: pugs were favourites of the Dutch House of Orange; one is said to have saved William the Silent by barking to warn him of assassins.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it is stitched on Aida printed with Bothy Threads' exclusive speckled background.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive speckled background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the pug in cross stitch from the centre of the chart, then add the whiskers and outlines in back stitch.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A perfect gift for any pug owner.
