Stitch Marine Blue, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a humpback whale and her calf swim together through soft blue bubbles.

A little stitcher's folklore: humpback whales sing long, changing songs, and every male in an ocean region sings the same tune each season.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it is stitched on Aida printed with Bothy Threads' exclusive speckled background, so the soft Wrendale look is ready-made.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida printed with a soft bubble background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches, a few fractional stitches, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the whales in cross stitch from the centre, add fractionals where shown, then the outlines in back stitch and the French knots.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A calm ocean piece for a bathroom or seaside home.

This is a gorgeous whale cross stitch kit! I looked everywhere for the perfect piece & was thrilled to finally find this one??. It was shipped quickly & arrived safely. I will post a photo when complete. I couldn't be more pleased & will buy from this shop again.
