Stitch Happy Owl-O-Ween, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — three little owls huddle among autumn leaves, one in a witch's hat, under a full orange moon.

A little stitcher's folklore: in old England the hoot of an owl at night was thought to foretell a change in the weather.

Why this kit: a Wrendale Designs favourite by Hannah Dale, it is full of character, with plenty of expression to bring out as you stitch.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida printed with Bothy Threads' exclusive Wrendale Designs speckle, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the owls and leaves in cross stitch from the centre, then add the outlines in back stitch and the French knots.

Finished size: 33×29 cm (13×11.4 in). A cute Halloween piece from the 2025 Holiday Collection.
