Stitch Mushroom at the Inn, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — two harvest mice shelter under a red toadstool beneath the words 'Christmas Wishes'.

A little stitcher's folklore: the red-and-white fly agaric toadstool appears on many old Christmas cards, possibly because of its Santa-like colours.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it is stitched on Aida printed with exclusive Wrendale background artwork, so the scene is already softly coloured before you begin.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida printed with exclusive Wrendale Designs background artwork, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the toadstool and mice in cross stitch from the centre, then add the lettering and outlines in back stitch and the French knots.

Finished size: 18×22 cm (7.1×8.7 in). A small, cheerful Christmas piece first released in Bothy's Advent Calendar.
