Stitch Pink Ladies, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — three pink flamingos strut side by side on long legs across a speckled ground.

A little stitcher's folklore: flamingos can only eat with their heads upside down, filtering shrimps from the water with their bent beaks.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it is stitched on Aida printed with Bothy Threads' exclusive speckled background, so the soft Wrendale look is ready-made.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive speckled background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches, a few fractionals, back stitch and two French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the flamingos in cross stitch from the centre of the chart, add fractionals where shown, then the legs in back stitch and the two French knots.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A bright, fun trio for a bathroom or bedroom.
