A little stitcher's folklore: country folk once said cows lie down in the field when rain is on the way.

Why this kit: a Wrendale Designs favourite by Hannah Dale, it is full of character, with plenty of expression to bring out as you stitch.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive speckled background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the cow in cross stitch from the centre of the chart, then add the grass and outlines in back stitch.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A classic farmhouse piece for a kitchen wall.
