Stitch Woof!, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a black Lab, pug, Jack Russell, papillon, spaniel, dachshund, Alsatian, collie and poodle play together, each labelled by name.

A little stitcher's folklore: the papillon takes its name from the French for butterfly, after the shape of its fringed ears.

Why this kit: based on original artwork by Kate Garrett, each character is labelled with its name in back stitch, which makes it a fun one to stitch for children or animal lovers.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the dogs in cross stitch from the centre, then add the names and outlines in back stitch and the French knots.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A fun gift for any dog lover.
