Stitch Aquamarine Meadow, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — blue butterflies flutter over a bank of yellow primroses and blue flowers, with a bumblebee at work below.

A little stitcher's folklore: in the common blue butterfly, only the male is bright blue; the female is mostly brown.

Why this kit: based on original artwork by Karen Tye Bentley, it is stitched on soft sage green Aida, with beads and lazy daisy petals adding texture.

Kit includes: 14-count light sage green Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, beads, needles and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, lazy daisies and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the flowers and butterflies in cross stitch from the centre, add the lazy daisies and back stitch, then sew on the beads.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A fresh spring piece from the Summer 2024 Collection.

This kit came in a box instead of a bag or plastic sleeve. Shipped quickly, had everything needed. The fabric is a lovely light blue color. Excited to start on this one. As a note a quick glance of the instructions made me realize this is primarily a cross stitch but there are embroidery elements. I've never done embroidery but the instructions seemed to be detailed enough for anyone to complete it
