Stitch Love and Light, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — two sheep sit side by side looking over a lake glowing with sunset colours, mountains and pink clouds beyond.

A little stitcher's folklore: 'Red sky at night, shepherd's delight' is an old rhyme saying a glowing sunset promises fine weather.

Why this kit: based on original artwork by Lucy Pittaway, the UK's most popular published artist in 2022, it captures her bright skies and much-loved sheep.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, needles and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the sky and lake in cross stitch from the centre, then the sheep and flowers, and finish the details in back stitch.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A peaceful piece for anyone who loves the hills.
