Stitch Faerie Ball, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a turquoise high heel with delicate lilac fairy wings is trimmed with blossom and curling tendrils.

A little stitcher's folklore: rings of mushrooms in the grass were once said to mark where fairies danced at night.

Why this kit: part of Sally King's Shoe Art Collection, it turns a fantasy high heel into a whole scene, with metallic thread adding a magical shimmer to the wings.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, metallic thread and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the shoe and wings in cross stitch from the centre, then add the outlines in back stitch and the metallic details.

Finished size: 26×24 cm (10.2×9.4 in). An enchanting piece for a fairy lover.
