Stitch Bee My Sunshine, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a golden yellow shoe is covered in flowers and topped with sunflowers, with a bumblebee and a striped heel wrapped in ivy.

A little stitcher's folklore: young sunflowers turn to follow the sun across the sky, then face east once they are fully grown.

Why this kit: part of Sally King's Shoe Art Collection, it turns a fantasy high heel into a whole scene, full of sunny yellows and summer flowers.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the shoe and flowers in cross stitch from the centre, then add the outlines in back stitch.

Finished size: 21×30 cm (8.3×11.8 in). A sunny piece to brighten any room.
