Stitch Hubble Bubble, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — an orange witch's shoe patterned with black cats has a bubbling cauldron at the toe, pumpkins up the heel and a spider on its curly tip.

A little stitcher's folklore: 'Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble' is chanted by the witches in Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Why this kit: in Sally King's Shoe Art style, it turns a witch's shoe into a whole Halloween scene, with metallic silver thread for a spooky glint.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, metallic silver thread, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, fractionals, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the shoe in cross stitch from the centre, then add fractionals, back stitch, French knots and the metallic details.

Finished size: 22×29 cm (8.7×11.4 in). A fun Halloween piece for autumn.
