Stitch Lazy Sundae, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a shoe built from an ice cream cone heel, a swirl of pink ice cream and a fruity sundae glass, topped with a cocktail umbrella.

A little stitcher's folklore: the ice cream sundae is said to take its name from being first sold on Sundays in 19th-century America.

Why this kit: part of Sally King's Shoe Art Collection, it turns a fantasy high heel into a whole scene, with beads adding sweet sprinkles.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, beads, needles and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the shoe in cross stitch from the centre, then add the outlines in back stitch and sew on the beads.

Finished size: 22×28 cm (8.7×11 in). A fun summer piece for a sweet tooth.
