Stitch Dovecote, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a brick dovecote with a cream wall and a wreathed door stands among blossom trees behind a red-brick garden wall.

A little stitcher's folklore: in medieval England only the lord of the manor was allowed to keep a dovecote.

Why this kit: from Sally Swannell's Country Estate Collection, it is stitched on 16-count ice blue Aida and pairs with the rest of the series.

Kit includes: 16-count ice blue Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the dovecote and trees in cross stitch from the centre, then add the details in back stitch.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A charming piece for a country home.
