Stitch Merry Music Makers, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — three mice in red jackets and scarves sing and play a trombone on a snowy tree stump among frosted branches.

A little stitcher's folklore: door-to-door carol singing grew from wassailing, when villagers toasted the health of their neighbours.

Why this kit: based on original artwork by Sarah Summers, it is stitched on Aida printed with an exclusive woodland background, so the frosty scene is ready-made.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive woodland background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch, lazy daisies and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the mice in cross stitch from the centre, then add the back stitch, lazy daisies and French knots.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A cheerful festive piece from the 2024 Holidays Collection.
