Stitch Greenhouse, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a Victorian-style glasshouse stands against a stone wall, surrounded by terracotta pots, cloches, a watering can and trees.

A little stitcher's folklore: the Victorians grew pineapples in heated glasshouses as a sign of wealth.

Why this kit: from Sally Swannell's Country Estate Collection, it is stitched on 16-count ice blue Aida and pairs with the rest of the series.

Kit includes: 16-count ice blue Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and one French knot. A frame is not included.

Stitch the greenhouse and garden in cross stitch from the centre, then add the back stitch and the French knot.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A lovely piece for a gardener.
