Stitch Meadow Moments, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — two mice in hats share a picnic on a gingham rug under colourful bunting in a flowery meadow.

A little stitcher's folklore: the word picnic comes from the French 'pique-nique', first recorded in the 1690s.

Why this kit: based on original artwork by Sarah Summers, it is stitched on Aida printed with an exclusive meadow background, from the Spring 2025 Collection.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive meadow background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch, French knots and lazy daisy stitches. A frame is not included.

Stitch the mice and picnic in cross stitch from the centre, then add the back stitch, French knots and lazy daisies.

Finished size: 26×26 cm (10.2×10.2 in). A sunny piece for spring and summer.
