Stitch this purple and gold lantern with this Charivna Mit plastic canvas ornament kit — the die-cut octagonal lantern shape stitches up with a geometric purple and gold pattern radiating from a woven center, finished with a beaded gold cap and a purple tassel.

Why this kit: the charted design gives stitchers a clear path to follow; the included or specified materials support detailed needlework; the finished piece is suitable for framing, seasonal decor, or gifting.

Kit includes: instructions, color symbolic scheme, plastic canvas, Madeira cotton floss in 6 colors, Preciosa Ornela beads (Czech Republic) in 5 colors and 4 sizes, one color of foamiran, and 2 needles. Made in Ukraine.

Plastic canvas cross-stitch is worked by following the color symbol chart and stitching each square of the rigid mesh with the indicated floss color; because the canvas itself holds the shape, a foamiran layer backs the piece for a smooth finish while Preciosa beads trace the pattern for shine, and a gold cap and tassel complete the lantern form. Attach the cord to display on the tree.
