Stitch Mushrooms, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — two plump brown-capped mushrooms nestle in tall green grass.

A little stitcher's folklore: the cep is nicknamed the penny bun in Britain because its glossy brown cap looks like a bread roll.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 12 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A cosy autumn canvas for a forager.
