Stitch Pansy, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — white and purple pansies with yellow eyes nestle among bright green leaves on a golden background.

A little stitcher's folklore: pansies are among the few garden flowers that keep blooming through a mild winter.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 15 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A pretty floral piece for any room.

I just finished this 6x6 stamped piece. At first I was not sure about the gold/orange background, but it really made the pansies pop. I am thrilled with this completed project which arrives promptly. I will not hesitate to encourage a beginner to try this as it is simple and quickly finished and for advanced stitchers it is a nice break when needing a small project. I have had nothing but quality results from this shop, seller and project pieces.
