Stitch Lady of Baghdad, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a woman in a pale blue veil and striped silks leans in a carved doorway.

A little stitcher's folklore: William Clark Wontner was an English painter known for his Orientalist portraits of women.

Why this canvas: a reproduction of William Clark Wontner's artwork printed in full colour on Zweigart canvas, so you can recreate the painting stitch by stitch in the threads of your choice.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 30 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 40×60 cm (15.7×23.6 in). An exotic art piece for a living room.

The canvas for this piece is larger than I thought, but it works out for me because I plan on using this piece to upholster a chair. Very nice piece.
